Shaneequa Castle is the founder and CEO of The Golden Spoon Club, a collective of people and resources dedicated to inspiring, educating, and activating the power within the black community. Her goal is to help black people create holistic generational wealth; including but not limited to mental wealth, spiritual wealth and financial wealth.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from St. Lawrence University, a Masters of Arts in African and African Diaspora Studies from Florida International University and is currently earning a Ph.D. in Minority and Urban Education from The University of Maryland, College Park. She received multiple awards for her scholarship including the Tanner Research Fellowship, and the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Award.
Not only is she a lifelong student, but she is also a passionate and talented educator. She has experience teaching both young children and adults. She has been invited to teach and speak both nationally and internationally on a variety of topics from the entrepreneurship of dancehall patrons to effective student engagement strategies. Her research focuses on amplifying student voices in the transformation of the public education system while her professional efforts provide the knowledge and resources that the school system neglects to provide black and brown people in underserved communities.
